Clay Snyder began his hospitality career in the early 1980’s in Western Pennsylvania working in the foodservice industry in just about every capacity. In June of 1989, he was recruited to Johnson & Wales University where he attended the Summer Work Experience Program with the hopes of jump starting his education and securing a job. As a freshman at the University, Clay was very active in sports including intramural basketball and football. During his first year, he was involved in establishing Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at the Providence Campus. He also held a job at the Biltmore Hotel as a Parking Attendant during his duration as a student. In the spring of 1992, Clay was selected as a University Representative to the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation and attended the events surrounding the annual event in Chicago, IL. Receiving his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management in 1993, Clay continued to work at the Biltmore Hotel until 1995. Alumni connections have kept Clay moving upward in his hospitality career. Following a brief stint in Charlotte, NC in 1995 with Adam’s Mark Hotels, Clay joined the precursor companies to the current Interstate Hotels and Reports in Atlanta by joining CapStar/MeriStart Hotels. Culminating his career with Interstate Hotels and Resorts, Clay spent his last five years as the General Manager for the Doubletree Guest Suites in Atlanta. In 2005, Clay had the opportunity to join the Hilton Hotel Corporation to work primarily with the Doubletree Brand. In his current capacity, Clay works directly with thirty Doubletree Hotels in the southeastern part of the United States. He works with almost twenty-five different ownership and management companies on increasing financial performance and consistency of the Doubletree brand throughout his region. Clay currently resides in Dallas, GA. |
