Kerry E. Porter, chair, communications committee received his Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Johnson & Wales. Upon graduating from the University, Kerry immediately embarked on an odyssey of sorts to learn different operations of business while keeping his eye on owning and operating his own business. Kerry had worked in several contract positions in various sectors of business practicing within the states of Rhode Island, New York, and New Jersey. In November of 2002, Kerry opened his own business entitled ‘KSPORT, Inc.’ KSPORT provides a media outlet for youth athletics. With this, he helps attract corporate sponsors for youth teams who are looking to raise funds for operation throughout the year.

As a student, Kerry was actively involved with Phi Beta Lambda and the Society for the Advancement of Management. He was also nominated as the most valuable member of PBL in 1993 at the very first National Student Organization Oscars. In SAM, Kerry was instrumental in running the program with the help of several members for two years before becoming an active Student Advisor during his last year at Johnson & Wales. During his college career, he participated in various Intramural Football leagues, as well as participated in other student based concerns at all levels when needed.

As the chair of the communications committee, Kerry is charged with overseeing all communications among the Alumni Council.
