Western Region

Dear Fellow Alumni,

a
As we move into May and graduation rolls around the importance of alumni relations is more present then ever. The Denver Campus alone will be graduating 800 students that will join the alumni association of over 72,000 individuals. As the alumni community is growing so is the need to increase alumni opportunities.

Over the last few months great strides have been taken in the western region to engage alumni. I am happy to report that chapter development is currently under way in Denver, Dallas, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. In each city a small group of alumni have offered to serve as chapter leadership to lay the foundation for each chapter and determine what alumni want to see happen. With the passion and enthusiasm I have seen thus far I anticipate that these chapters will be up and running by mid summer. In light of this there will be more activities and events planned and more opportunities will exist for you to be involved. I hope that you will take the opportunity to connect or even re-connect with your fellow JWU alumni at future events.

As always, there are many ways that you can be involved as an alumnus/alumna: attend local chapter events, speak to prospective students during the admissions process, mentor a student, share your professional insights with students in the classroom, recruit students for internships or even hire graduating students.

If you would like to be involved please contact me. Also, if you have suggestions for events that you would like to see or other ideas my door is always open. I look forward to continuing to meet each of you and establishing alumni chapters in your city!

Sincerely,

Jenny Hightower '06
