Greetings from the Providence Campus:

As alumni of Johnson & Wales University, you are part of abrassil great institution, and we encourage you to participate with pride in the ongoing achievements of your alma mater. By joining the JWU Alumni Association, getting involved with its programs, and attending campus-sponsored events, you show your commitment to the University, its students and you help to establish traditions for generations to come

One of the great traditions we are creating is the annual Alumni Emerging Leaders Week.  The first week of February showcased 38 Alumni Emerging Leaders in their chosen careers who returned to JWU to give classroom presentations, participate on panel discussions, shadow students in labs and to participate in senior focus groups.  It was a full week of whirlwind activity where more than 1,300 students had an opportunity to network and to build professional relationships with the visiting alumni.

Each month our Wildcat Wednesdays continued to grow.  During the month of March one of the most exciting evenings was the Business to Business Networking Group meeting which hosted a “Conversation with the Campus President”.  Alumni attending the event were surprised and pleased to hear about all the changes on campus and the exciting plans for the future.  Dr. Schneider has asked us to plan more of these evenings for him to meet and to engage with alumni.

The upcoming months are going to be just as busy.  Plans are underway for a number of social events for the summer months including an evening at the JWU Summer Pops and a family event at the PawSox.

Mark your calendars for the All Class Reunion scheduled for Saturday, October 4.  It will be a great time to return to your alma mater to reminise and re-connect with friends, faculty and fellow alumni.

There are many ways for you to stay involved with JWU through the Providence Campus alumni relations office or with the Metro Providence Alumni Chapter.  Whether you are interested in helping out at admissions events, mentoring a student, being a guest lecturer for a class, coming to networking events, or being part of a chapter leadership, I invite you to return to your alma mater.

I am looking forward to another season of engaging alumni and bringing them back to campus.  I would enjoy hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Meredith Brassil
