Matthew Kenney '91, '02 MBA
Vice President of Operations, Jessica's Wonders

Matt Kenney has been busy carving his own career niche and indulging his entrepreneurial spirit.

After graduation, Matt went home and joined Kenney's Deli & Catering, a family business founded in 1933 by his grandfather. As the general manager, Matt was responsible for the day-to-day operations of catering services, the delicatessen and a 100-seat restaurant.

Within three years, Matt founded Galway Bay Salad Company, a contract manufacturing venture, producing and distributing perishable products throughout New England. Programs were developed with leading foodservice companies including the SYSCO Corporation, 99 Restaurants and numerous independent supermarkets.

In 1995, Matt founded Kenny's Fresh Foods, a manufacturing business focused on creating high quality products for supermarket and specialty distributors. The products were based on old family recipes handed down from generation to generation. Kenney's Fresh Foods developed several upscale programs for DeMoulas/Market Basket, Dole and independent grocers throughout the Greater Boston area.

Matt went on to become a consultant when he founded Food Industry Resource Group in 1998. He worked with large independent restaurants to develop new products and strategies. In 2000, Matt accepted a position as vice president of operations with Jessica's Wonders, the baked goods trademark of Jessica's Inc. In this role, Matt is responsible for implementing strategic direction, research and development, production, distribution and marketing for the company.

In the fall of 2000, Matt enrolled at the Alan Shawn Feinstein Graduate School at Johnson & Wales where he is pursuing his MBA degree with a concentration in marketing.
