Magaline Goman '02
Traveling Environmental Service Manager, Sodexho

Although a shy child growing up in a large Bahamian family, Magaline always focused her energies on her studies, which prepared her not only for her four years at Johnson & Wales, but also for her professional career. While pursuing a bachelor's degree in hotel-restaurant institutional management, she worked fulltime as an evening housekeeping supervisor for Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, where she was able to apply first-hand what she learned in the classroom.

Since graduation, Magaline's responsibilities and daily activities have grown; and she now works for Sodexho as a traveling environmental service manager. In this new role, she travels across the southeastern part of the United States consulting with Sodexho clients, providing them with input on business-related improvements. Currently, she is back in school pursuing her master's degree while working and has also maintained close ties with Johnson & Wales. In fact, Magaline participated on an industry panel that assisted the University in developing new curriculum for students seeking positions in the housekeeping sector. Magaline remains involved with the Florida Campus chapter for the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality.
