Barry Vogel, a successful educator in the hospitality and food service industries, began his studies at Johnson & Wales in the College of Business. Before serving in his current capacity, Vogel occupied several administrative positions on the Florida and Providence Campuses including director of student affairs, director of budget and planning, coordinator of food service/hospitality placement, coordinator of cooperative education and director of culinary admissions. His previous experience includes serving as managing partner of the Cumberland, Rhode
Over the years Vogel has served on a number of civic organizations including Beacon Council, Miami Dade County’s economic development agency, of which he is director at-large; Member-Investor Services Task force of the Beacon Council; the Community Impact Council; the Campaign Cabinet of United Way of Miami Dade; and North Miami Mayor’s Economic Task Force, of which he is vice president. His extensive professional memberships consist of the Greater Miami Chapter American Culinary Federation, the National Restaurant Association, the Florida Restaurant Association, National Association of College and University Business Officers, and Les Amis d’ Escoffier Society of South Florida, of which he serves as treasurer. Vogel received his bachelor of science in food service management and his master of science in managerial technology at the Providence Campus of Johnson & Wales. He just received his juris doctorate from Nova Southeastern University, Davie, Fla. in May 2006.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Roxanne, and children Joshua and Rachel, in Pembroke Pines, Fla.
