Growing up and living in Rhode Island all his life, Eric Churchill may have been lucky to have Johnson & Wales in his back yard. His interest in the hospitality business started at an early age and was brought to fruition with his completion of a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management in 1993.
Armed with his degree, Eric moved to Dallas to work in his first job as director of housekeeping at the Harvey Hotel. This was a springboard to a hospitality career for Eric that includes significant career advances.
Moving into the general manager position at the Providence Marriott Hotel in July of 2006, Eric now manages a staff of 230 and is responsible for the operations of this 351-room hotel on a daily basis. Working hand in hand with the university where he got his formal training, Eric encourages the involvement of interns and part and full-time employees from Johnson & Wales University at his property. Proud of his alma mater and the level of graduates it is still turning
out today, Eric is an ardent supporter of the school.
Eric resides in Providence and is active in the community through his work with the Chamber of Commerce and the Rhode Island Hospitality and Tourism Association. His combined education and years of experience in the hospitality industry continue to serve him well as he progresses upward on his career ladder.
