Jennifer Witt '96
Information Security Specialist - Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc.

Practicing her leadership skills and helping change peoples lives for the better are two talents Jennifer Witt has down pat. Recruited to Johnson & Wales University because of her participation in SkillsUSA (VICA) in New York State, Jennifer attended on a full-tuition scholarship. Jennifer’s education was filled with involvement in clubs and organizations beyond SkillsUSA including Clubs Council and the University Involvement Board.witt Her education in the School of Technology offered her the opportunity to complete an internship that introduced her to the philosophies of Ocean Spray — the world’s largest producer of cranberry products.

Jennifer’s internship in the summer before her senior year of college lead to part-time employment with Ocean Spray. In her early days with the company, she was responsible for installing computers on people’s desks and answering phones at the help desk. Because of Jennifer’s determination, she was offered a full-time position at a time when technology was gaining increasing importance– With the growing popularity of the internet, she became responsible for areas of data security, virtual private networking and firewall protection as well as becoming a part of the e-mail and messaging team.

Jennifer remains actively involved with the New York SkillsUSA organization, recently completing a term on the board of trustees, and works closely with the Rhode Island Jewish community.
