jwu reunion

Reunion is returning to JWU Providence! This will be one of our first in-person events since 2019, so it's truly going to be the party of the year. We're excited for Reunion classics like Taste of JWU and the Bayside Bash. We're also introducing new events, including a chocolate tasting and disco brunch.

Tickets

Tickets for Reunion 2022 will be available in January. You'll be able to register for individual events or purchase a weekend pass for a discounted price of $95 through February 11. We'll be in touch as soon as registration is open! In the meantime, check out our event schedule and book your hotel for the weekend.

Saturday, June 11

Equine Tour, 9:30 am-12 pm
Curious about what goes on at the barn? Want to check out the horses? Take a trip to our equine facility and learn a bit more about the program. Transportation will be provided.

A Peek into the Future of Food, 10:30 am-12 pm
In the Fall of 2020, JWU launched the College of Food Innovation & Technology (CFIT) to connect health, technology, business and policies that will shape the future of food by defining its powerful role in people’s lives and its impact on our world. This college will help take JWU to the next level as the food industry continues to evolve. As alumni, we want you to be at the forefront of these changes and learn more about what today’s students are being taught. At this demonstration and discussion, you’ll meet the college’s new dean, Jason R. Evans, Ph.D., and learn about the intersection of food and technology from a group of JWU chefs who look at modern approaches to classic techniques, innovative ways to be sustainable and how food fuels performance both on and off the athletic fields.

Experience Today’s JWU: Program Tour & Faculty Chat, 10-11:30 am
Talk a walking tour of the newest (and up-and-coming) lab spaces on the Downcity campus, while hearing from faculty about their programs. The tour includes:

Cannabis Entrepreneurship
Cannabis Entrepreneurship collides the worlds of science, business, economics and entrepreneurship together to evaluate the rapidly growing and evolving landscape of the cannabis industry. You’ll learn about the program from its faculty and see how students are taught the science. *Cannabis is a Schedule I drug according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency. The Cannabis Entrepreneurship program will not include any handling of or direct contact with any illegal products or derivatives. The discussions and practice will be hypothetical, as with many of the other current JWU course offerings. Plants, such as tomatoes, hemp, coleus, etc., that share common characteristics of the psychoactive cannabis species, will be used in hypothetical modeling.

Center for Media Production
At the Center for Media Production you’ll see their writing, recording and editing labs. Experience an immersive special effects video demonstration and then step up to the microphone to the podcasting studio to record promotional spots which will be used “on air” by JWU Live, our campus radio station.

Delaware North SEEM Lab
Check out the Delaware North SEEM (Sports, Entertainment and Event - Management) Lab, a multi-functional space equipped with advanced technology and exceptional design features.  Inspired by design elements of Boston’s TD Garden, you will experience a game-day atmosphere as soon as you step foot on the iconic Bruins logo and set your eyes on the largest interactive video screen on campus.

Fashion & Retail Lab
Visit the Fashion Retail lab where Fashion Merchandising students experience a simulated corporate retail environment under the supervision of faculty with industry expertise. Observe where students conduct retail operations such as market analysis, trend forecasting, merchandise buying, visual merchandising and product development.

Taste of JWU, 12:30-3 pm
A Reunion favorite, don’t miss this annual food and wine tasting at a new location! You’ll have the chance to sample bites from alumni chefs and taste wines from around the country as well as sample our signature cocktail.

Shakin' It Up: Craft Cocktails, 3-4:30 pm
We're shaking and stirring up Reunion with a craft cocktail tasting! Andrew Greenleaf ’17, ’18 MBA, Jim Griffin, Ed.D ’88, ’92 MS and Liz Smith ’15 will share everything from classic cocktails to up-and-coming trends in the industry. You’ll have the chance to taste their delicious and creative cocktails with spirits sponsored by Bully Boy.

Chocolate: Spice Up Your Life, 3-4:30 pm
Just about everyone loves chocolate, but how well can you describe your chocolate taste experience? Enjoy this interactive tasting session, led by Aura Fajardo Quintero ’17, chocolatier, and owner of Aura’s Chocolate Bar. She'll take you on a flavor journey of chocolates made with Latin American beans from Venezuela, the Dominican Republic and Ecuador. She’ll also show you how chocolate can be spiced up with other flavors such as salt, spices and flowers.

College of Hospitality Management Anniversary Celebration, 6:30-7:30 pm
Are you a graduate of the College of Hospitality Management? Then this event is for you! Come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the college. Take this time to reconnect with fellow alumni overlooking the bay!
*Admission to this event automatically grants you access to the Bayside Bash.*

Bayside Bash, 7:30-11 pm
The Bayside Bash is making its triumphant return to the waterfront! Head to the Harborside campus for the party we've all been waiting for. We'll be playing your favorite throwback songs and there will be plenty of delicious food to enjoy.

Sunday, June 12

Disco Brunch, 10 am-12 pm
We're switching it up this year! To go along with this year's tagline, "reunited and it feels so good", we're throwing it back to the days of disco. If you're familiar with our jazz brunch, this event will feature the same great food and company with music from the disco era.
